Empowering Young Adults with Autism to Live, Work & Thrive in the Community

ScenicView Academy is a residential nonprofit transitional school for young adults with autism and learning disabilities. We provides a comprehensive independent living curriculum to empower young adults with autism to live, work, and thrive in the community.

Our mission is to help students: obtain and maintain gainful employment develop independent living skills needed to live on their own, engage in meaningful social relationships and interactions, progress in their educational abilities and understand and engage in productive leisure time.

How we implement our goals of Live, Work, and Thrive:

• Our Live Program emphasizes the Daily living and Lifelong learning skills needed to become independent. These living skills include: Budgeting, cooking, transportation, personal hygiene, medication management, medical and dental health, laundry, and cleaning, among others.

  Lifelong educational skills include: reading, writing, math, and even supports for high school diplomas, college, or trade school.

• Our Work Program teaches students work skills: preparing for and meeting expectations at work, communicating with supervisors, career exploration, interviewing, and other vocational skills.
• To Thrive: We teach our students to "find joy in the journey". Classes, groups, clubs and activities in the Thrive Program help our students to find personal fulfillment and prepare socially and emotionally to integrate into community life.

In addition to independent living, vocational, and social skills, our students receive expert clinical care, including individual and family therapy, biofeedback, neurofeedback, speech pathology, and expressive arts therapy.
