Eaton Arrowsmith School - Unlocking Your Brain's Potential by Enhancing Cognitive Capacity

Our mission is to provide compassionate learning communities, built on integrity, trust, growth, and that empower positive change for kids and young adults to address learning disabilities, attention disorders, high functioning autism, concussion or brain injury, or executive functioning challenges.

Eaton Arrowsmith School has effectively implemented the Arrowsmith Program since 2005. The Arrowsmith Program itself has been in use for over four decades. Indeed, for the past 40 years the Arrowsmith Program has been an effective intervention to improve the cognitive capacities of children with learning difficulties. More than 10,000 students worldwide have achieved success with the Arrowsmith Program. Over the past 23 years there have been many independent studies, using a variety of research methods and designs, of the Arrowsmith Program and all of them point to the same conclusion; that the program works, and that children and young people have benefited. In particular, the research on the Arrowsmith Program has noted its positive benefit of improving large scale brain network connectivity which is noted to be atypical in a variety of disabilities.

Our onsite schools and online programs operate on the principle of neuroplasticity - the brain's ability to strengthen over time with targeted training. This sets us apart from other schools for students with learning difficulties. We teach children, teens, and adults to strengthen their weaknesses versus bypassing them with strategies and accommodations.

Think of the Arrowsmith Program as exercise for the brain. Going to the gym has countless benefits for a person's muscles, heart, and overall health. Cognitive exercises have a similar effect: they get the brain into shape, so it has a greater capacity to absorb information.

Typical EA students are of average or above average intelligence, and have a combination of mild, moderate or severe academic or social learning difficulties and/or executive functioning weaknesses that make mainstream curriculums somewhat challenging to very difficult.

To help meet the unique needs of each student, we offer individualized learning plans and program options that range from Full-time, Half-time, Part-time, 4-hours a week, 8-week Intensive and Summer programs. These various options provide parents with both affordability and ease of access.

Eaton Arrowsmith students have returned to public and private schools - elementary, high school and post-secondary - and the workforce with an increased ability to learn independently and be productive members of society. Our students go on to complete university degrees, find employment in their chosen fields and pursue their dreams.
