Gerstmann Syndrome Support Network
is a National Non-profit Network which was founded in September 1997. The
Network offers mutual support and education for persons with Gerstmann
Syndrome, which causes an inability to do math, express thoughts in
writing, distinguish between right and left, and distinguish one's own
finger from another's.
Gerstmann Syndrome Support Network
provides the following services:
- Education about the disorder to professionals
- Pen-pal service to those with Gerstmann Syndrome
- Advocacy service to those with Gerstmann Syndrome (on a limited
basis)
- Phone support for professionals and those with Gerstmann Syndrome
- Information and referrals to other groups that might be of additional
help
- Bereavement and grief support for those with Gerstmann Syndrome only
Gerstmann Syndrome Support Network
has a Board of Directors. The requirements for board membership are that
you must have Gerstmann Syndrome and be willing to share your ideas
through letters to program questioners. Contact the Network for more
information.
Gerstmann Syndrome Support Network
publishes a newsletter 4 times a year. Due to a limit of 30 copies, we
ask recipients to share with others when finished.
