Since 1969, Summit Camp has been synanomous with excellence of program for children with issues relating to:
- ADHD
- mild LD; or
- Aspergers Syndrome
Our campers, boys and girls ages 7-17, thrive in an atmosphere is that clearly directed and supported that enables them to find social success, enjoy a wide array of program opportunities, and to enhance their sense of self and confidence.
Boys and girls who will attain the age of 15 during the calendar year in which they attend camp, or who have already reached that age, will be participants in our work/camp program. Super Teens work as waiters and waitresses for one meal daily, acquiring positive attitudes toward work, learning the importance of task completion, and developing useful skills. In addition they may have an opportunity for a second job working in one of our activity, specialty or administrative areas.
Summit Travel represents the logical extension of our camping program for teenagers (ages 15+) who have outgrown the traditional camping experience, but still require opportunities for structured and supervised social experiences, and may need to transition to recreational opportunities of a more adult and "mainstream" nature. The Travel Program extends our concept of therapeutic recreation to three excursions. There are two 21 day trips and one 12 day mini-trip. Either trip one or trip two can be combined with a session at camp, which we recommend for "transitioning" campers. The 12 day trip can be a great introduction to travel for the first time participant.
