Eckerd Academy offers positive, nurturing, highly effective outdoor residential treatment programs in Deer Lodge, TN and Brooksville, FL for boys and girls ages 10 through 18 who are:

• struggling with school;
• causing family conflicts;
• experiencing depression;
• having self esteem issues; and
• exhibiting ADD/ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder or other emotional problems and behavioral issues.

Operated by Eckerd Youth Alternatives, a national leader in helping troubled youth turn their lives around, Eckerd Academy has helped thousands of kids since 1968.

Eckerd Academy combines fully accredited education with group and individual counseling, high-interest adventure programs and relationship and communication-building skills in a therapeutic outdoor setting. Individual treatment and education plans address special needs, while youths live, learn and grow in small, family-like groups.

A unique element is the positive bond that develops between the counselor and each child. Eckerd Academy is one of the few programs nationwide in which trained counselors have around-the-clock contact with troubled youth and make such strong, caring, therapeutic connections. The youth are connected to adult staff role models who help them build self-confidence, develop respect for self and others, accept personal responsibility and make good decisions.

Eckerd Academy at Brooksville is located on 800 beautiful wooded acres just 45-minutes north of Tampa, Florida. And Eckerd Academy at Deer Lodge is located on 326 beautiful wooded acres in the Cumberland Plateau area between Nashville and Knoxville.
